SHAPESHIFTERS Exhibition Curated by Dame Tracey Emin DBE

SHAPESHIFTERS a new exhibition at TKE Studios, Margate, curated by Dame Tracey Emin DBE. The exhibition features works by Elissa Cray and Joline Kwakkenbos.

Running on weekends from 3 November 2024 to 26 January 2025, the exhibition offers an intimate dialogue between two remarkable artists, each exploring themes of self, gender, and identity in their unique ways:

• Joline Kwakkenbos, a Dutch painter, presents introspective self-portraits that blur the lines of time, history, and identity, exploring queer femininity and the female gaze.
• Elissa Cray, photographer and Director of TKE Studios uses large-format film photography to capture shape-shifting figures, revealing a fluidity of gender and queerness while blending presence with absence in striking ways.

Together, their works create a conversation around identity, memory, and the human condition, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities of contemporary life.
