Don’t just celebrate Margate Pride – be a part of it!


Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Margate Pride events are made possible by people like you, who keep Pride alive. All volunteers must be 18 or older. 

Margate Pride is volunteer-run so we need support all year round, but the lead-up to and Summer Festival is where we really ramp up the activity. We host a festival during August either side of Pride Day which sees performances & rally, the parade and more, on Saturday 10th August.

WAIVER

 

To be accepted as a volunteer at Margate Pride, I hereby agree to the following terms.

• I agree to assume all risks, dangers, and injuries associated with being involved in Margate Pride events and release Margate Pride CIC from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from my volunteer work with Margate Pride CIC.

• I understand that this waiver discharges Margate Pride CIC from any liability or claim that I may have against Margate Pride CIC with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from my participation. I also fully understand that Margate Pride CIC does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance, in the event of injury, illness, death, or property damage.

  • To be treated as a coworker and not as free help
  • A suitable work assignment with consideration for personal preference, temperament, education and experience. 
  • Thoughtfully planned and effectively presented training—sound guidance and direction from an experienced and well-informed member of our team. 
  • To be heard and share your opinions openly. Recognition for the work you have done, the time you’ve put in, and the help you have given freely.

What We Expect From You. 

 

  • To make sure you truly want to dedicate your time and effort. Think about the services you offer and the value they are going to add. 
  • Sign up to the Margate Pride Code of Conduct.
  • To learn as much as you can about Margate Pride’s goals and mission. 
  • To offer constructive suggestions, don’t bad mouth Margate Pride, its staff or its volunteers. 
  • Accept the Rules; they’re there for a reason, even if you don’t understand. Ask questions – it’s important to clarify things you don’t understand. 
  • Follow through on your commitments, and don’t make promises you can’t keep. We all have a role to play and critical skills to contribute; we must work together to succeed.
